S’mores dip – baked marshmallow and chocolate dessert Recipe

S’mores dip is a homemade version of the campfire treat s’mores: melted chocolate and marshmallows you dip cookies into. In the USA, kids associate this flavor with camping trips and summer evenings by the fire. Here we make it in the oven, so you can prepare it even in an apartment without a garden.

Ingredients

  • chocolate - 200 g
  • cream - 60 ml
  • marshmallows - 150 g
  • butter - 10 g
  • tea biscuits - 150 g
  • salt - 1 pinch

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (top and bottom heat).
  2. Lightly grease an ovenproof dish or small cast-iron skillet with butter.
  3. Chop the chocolate into small pieces and place it in the dish in an even layer.
  4. Pour the cream over the chocolate and sprinkle with a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor.
  5. Arrange the marshmallows tightly next to each other on top so they cover the entire surface of the chocolate.
  6. Place the dish in the preheated oven for 7–10 minutes, until the marshmallows puff up, turn lightly golden-brown, and the chocolate underneath melts.
  7. Watch the dessert closely at the end of baking – marshmallows go from lightly golden to burnt very quickly.
  8. Remove the dish from the oven and let it sit for 3–5 minutes so the mixture is no longer boiling hot but still fluid.
  9. Serve immediately, placing a plate of tea biscuits next to it. Everyone scoops up some melted chocolate and marshmallows, dipping the biscuits into the mixture.
