Korean Ice Dessert with Dalgona Coffee Bingsu Recipe
Dalgona coffee bingsu is a modern combination of the Korean shaved ice dessert and the internet hit – whipped dalgona coffee. Instead of traditional red bean over ice, here a fluffy coffee foam lands on crushed ice or vanilla ice cream. It’s a perfect dessert for hot days, especially for iced coffee lovers.
This recipe combines trendy dalgona coffee with classic Korean bingsu, creating a layered dessert that is both visually striking and incredibly refreshing. The contrast between fluffy coffee foam, creamy ice cream, and crunchy shaved ice makes every spoonful interesting.

Ingredients
- instant coffee - 2 tablespoon
- sugar - 2 tablespoon
- water - 2 tablespoon
- milk - 200 ml
- ice cream - 200 g
- ice - 8 piece
- condensed milk - 2 tablespoon
- cocoa powder - 1 teaspoon
- nuts chopped - 2 tablespoon
Preparation
- Put the instant coffee and sugar into a small bowl and pour in the hot water.
- Whip the mixture with a hand mixer or whisk for 3–5 minutes, until it turns into a thick, light brown foam with the consistency of whipped cream.
- Crush the ice cubes in a blender or in a sturdy bag using a rolling pin until you get shaved ice; if you’re using ready-made crushed ice, skip this step.
- Divide the crushed ice between two wide glasses or bowls, then add 2–3 scoops of vanilla ice cream on top of each.
- Mix the milk with the condensed milk or another sweetener and slowly pour it into the glasses so that it reaches roughly halfway up the ice cream.
- Spoon a generous layer of whipped dalgona coffee over each portion, spreading it with a spoon.
- Sprinkle the top with cocoa powder and chopped nuts, and serve immediately with a long spoon and a straw.
- Before eating, gently stir the dessert so the coffee, milk, and ice cream combine into a creamy coffee shake.
